Privacy & disclosures
Cuefinda is a reference catalogue. It has no accounts, no newsletter, no advertising, and no analytics — so there is very little to tell you, and this page says so plainly rather than padding it out.

What we collect
Nothing that identifies you, because nothing here asks who you are.
Cuefinda runs no third-party analytics and no advertising scripts, and embeds no third-party players or trackers. Nothing on this site reports to Google, Meta, or anybody else. There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign in to and no profile to build. Searching the catalogue happens on our own server and is not logged against you.
We do count one thing ourselves. Every link that leaves this site goes to a service that holds the music — Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon — and when one is followed we add one to a counter for that link. That is the entire record: a number beside a link. No identifier of you is sent with it, no time is recorded, and nothing says which links were followed together or by the same visitor. It tells us that a particular link was used 41 times; it cannot tell us anything about the people who used it, and a total cannot be taken apart again into individuals.
The cookie described below is deliberately not read when this happens. Joining it to these counts would turn an anonymous handle into a history of what somebody listened to, which is a different thing entirely from counting links, and not something this site does.
One cookie is set, and only once you vote for a track or a release. It holds a random handle — no name, no email, nothing derived from you or your device — and its only job is to remember which votes are yours, so that a vote can be taken back by the person who cast it and by nobody else. It is not read for any other purpose, never leaves our server, and is not shared. Clearing your site data removes it, and the votes it was holding stop being attributable to you.
Our host keeps standard server logs — IP address, timestamp, requested page, browser user-agent — for the ordinary purposes of serving the site securely and diagnosing faults. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything else.
The search box sends what you type to our own server so it can return matching titles and names. Those queries are used to answer the request and nothing else: they are not stored against you, not profiled, and not shared.
This page is about data concerning you. For the data in the catalogue — where each fact was sourced and what each source is trusted for — see where the data comes from, and for the photographs of composers and artists, the image credits, which name every photographer and the licence their work is used under.
YouTube API Services
Required disclosure for our use of the YouTube Data API.
Cuefinda uses YouTube API Services to identify the official, label-delivered uploads that correspond to the tracks in this catalogue, and to build the links you see on each album and track. This happens during our own ingestion process, on our servers, ahead of time. It does not happen in your browser, and no request is made to YouTube while you read a page here.
We store only what a link needs: a video identifier, a title, and a duration. We do not request, receive, or store any YouTube user data, and nothing about you is sent to YouTube unless you choose to follow a link to it — at which point you are on YouTube’s site, under YouTube’s terms.
By using this site you are also agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of any data it collects is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Affiliate disclosure
Some outbound links can earn Cuefinda a commission.
Cuefinda is not currently enrolled in any affiliate programme, and no link on this site earns a commission today. We intend to join programmes for Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music, and this page and a site-wide notice will say so before any link starts earning.
What a commission never buys is placement. No platform pays to appear here, to appear first, or to appear at all. Which services a record links to is decided entirely by which ones we could match it to with confidence, and the order they appear in is fixed site-wide rather than sold. An affiliate link and a plain one point at exactly the same record.
Links to YouTube and YouTube Music are not affiliate links and earn nothing. No YouTube programme pays for referring a listener to a video, so those URLs carry no tracking parameters of ours at all.
Leaving this site
Every album and track ends in a hand-off.
Cuefinda hosts and streams no audio. Following a link takes you to Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, YouTube Music, or Amazon Music, each of which collects data under its own privacy policy — which we do not control and are not responsible for. It is worth reading whichever one you use.
